Lottoland & nDuo: Streamlining Success
The popularity of the UK National Lottery is immense, with recent research suggesting that around 45m people have bought a ticket at least once in the last few months. Today many people look beyond our shores, to the international lottery landscape to give themselves more chances to win the dream and Lottoland was created to make it easier for them to do so.
There are lotteries in Ireland, mainland Europe, the US and Australia, but in 2013 Lottoland was launched to bring all those jackpots into one place, giving you a chance to bet on the outcomes of over 30 games. Your bet is with Lottoland – choosing the numbers or lines like you would if you were actually buying a ticket for your chosen lottery – but the pay-out is exactly what you would have won if you were an official winner of the lottery you selected. Lottoland have just made it easier for you to choose which one or more lotteries to be a part of.
Lottoland has grown to be one of the biggest players in this burgeoning sector and today they have over 500 employees from tens of countries and continue to expand rapidly.
Much like any business in their situation, they soon recognised a number of rather significant problems that risked impacting their growth plans:
- Keeping up with the compliance requirements of their heavily regulated sector.
- Management challenges of an expanding Apple fleet.
- Maintaining security levels in a field with significant competition and a highly mobile workforce.
In April 2021 Lottoland turned to nDuo to help them overcome these challenges.
The Solution
In our initial discussions with Lottoland they requested a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution for their Mac estate.
However, with each subsequent meeting and their increased understanding of our expertise, they discovered more ways our experience could be utilised for the benefit of their business, which led to us helping them change their entire ecosystem.
In the end our work with them included:
- MDM for Mac devices, using Jamf
- MDM for Windows devices, using Intune
- ID security and compliance, using Okta
- Enterprise WiFi authentication, using SecureW2
- Ongoing nDuo Maintenance and after care
In practical terms Lottoland benefitted by:
• Onboarding automation reducing a 2 hour manual task to just 15 minutes
• Compliance and security changed from estimation to crystal clarity
• Offboarding and access revocation is now instant when previously it would have taken hours or even days to complete
• Streamlining and automation reduced the potential for human error, increasing accuracy confidence
